So we know we are starting a little late, but better late than never I guess!
We found out we were expecting on my dad's birthday, November 5th. Since I was leaving for a week long business trip the next day (btw I HATE Atlanta), we decided to tell the family right away even though Joe and I were both still freaking out a bit over the big news. So after the birthday cake that night we let the big news out and everyone was just as excited as we were! And of course the phone calls started that night to tell all you peeps who decided Texas wasn't the place they wanted to live, and calls continued throughout the next day.
We only had to wait one week after that first appt until we were able to see our baby for the first time!!
From this point on things were pretty routine, doctor's appointment every month, take my vitamins, no more alcohol, no more caffeine, and basically take better care of myself. But at the doctor's appointments I did get to hear the babies heartbeat which was awesome. It was a bit tough going a whole month in between those visits, when I couldnt feel the baby, had no idea if everything was ok, but every visit went good. Amy even got to come to one of them and hear the heartbeat.
The gifts started rollin in pretty quick. Here are some pics of the presents Aunt Amy has gotten baby already, shes gone a bit crazy, this kid is gonna be spoiled, but thats ok!!! Joe calls the brown soothing center our salvation : ) ....
There is also a whole closet full of gifts from both set of grandparents, but these are some of the bigger items. We have also received clothes, toys, rattles, bibs, etc... This baby is definetely loved already and Joe and I couldn't be happier.
Things from here were pretty routine, we hadn't gotten much actually work done preparing for the baby, but the baby sure is working on preparing for the first appearance.
I think we started feeling the baby move about this time. I wasnt sure what it was at first, just kinda felt like jello in my tummy!
This was right around 21 weeks or so. It sure helps with the long weeks between doctor visits when we can feel the little stowaway moving around in there.
About that same time was when we went in for our second ultrasound. So in case you didnt hear the story. We were on the ultrasound table for two hours and our sweet little stowaway just wouldn't cooperate! Legs crossed, legs closed, legs indian style, legs together, legs every way imaginable that did not allow us even a little peek at the goods!! So alas after that time our tech gave up and, although they think its a girl, they just wouldnt given us a definite, so 4 more weeks of waiting, but we did get some good pics out of it, and this is why we can feel the baby moving so much....
This is the pic as it was printed out...
This is how it looked before (the previous owner had it decorated)
Here is one of the nursery ideas that Kay found online that we like for a girl obviously)
And here are the most recent tummy pics taken yesterday, March 24th, just one week left until we confirm (hopefully) gender! We are so excited!
I think I'm huge, but people keep telling me I'm only gonna get bigger........ pray for me, actually...... pray for Joe : )
